Tulip Festival　Feb. 15 (Sat) – Apr. 13 (Sun), 2014

The Japan’s largest Tulip Festival opens with 650 types of tulips.

In spring, a variety of tulips welcome visitors at Huis Ten Bosch.
This year’s festival is the biggest ever; 650 kinds of tulips create the Japan’s largest tulip festival.
Enjoy landscapes in which tulips in their best season harmonize with townscapes.
During the Special Week (Mar. 21-Apr. 6), all the tulips in each area will blossom together!

The Kingdom of Light opens until March 30.
Visitors can enjoy tulips in daylight and the world’s greatest illuminations at night.

Slowly working windmills and colorful tulips spread over the ground to create a symbolic landscape of Huis Ten Bosch in spring.

More attractions to visit!

This year will see a geoglyph made with tulips at the Art Garden in the Flower and Green Area.
Other attractions include the decoration at a hotel lobby covered with tulips, collaborative decorations with wild flowers like poppies and tulips.

Hydrangea Festival Saturday 6/7/2014 - Monday 6/30/2014

Hydrangeas planted last year make their debut this year along the tree-lined path leading to the palace.
With 12 varities new to Japan, many rare varieities, and over 650 total cultivars on display, this is the largest hydrangea display in Japan, a country with many famous hydrangea spots.

Rose Festival! Friday 5/9/2014 - Monday 6/2/2014

Praised by top horticulturists from around the world, the roses at Huis Ten Bosch are once again in full bloom. A million roses and a thousand varieties collected from around the world will welcome everyone.

Five Main Rose Locations

1. Grand Rose Garden

Even the professionals admire the overwhelming sight of the roses in full bloom in this spot where art and garden become one.

Cascade Garden
The roses cultivated by the canal create a breathtaking three-dimensional view in this garden.
World Rose Collection
Roses from all over the world, including the winners of the fragrance contest, gathered into one magnificent garden.

Night Rose Garden
The lit-up rose garden and river's edge, with the soft scent of the roses wafting through the air, is a magical space, with a completely different feel from the daytime.
Rose Cloister
42 distinct arrangements of roses and flowers of early summer.
Rose Café and Bar
A cafe and bar framed in glass. Enjoy an elegant tea time surrounded by roses.

2. Rose Palace

The sweet smells of the Rose Garden and the snow-white roses of the White Rose Garden welcome everyone to the Rose Palace. The exhibits inside the museum are rose-related.

3. Rose Plaza

A place to rest and relax surrounded by rose creations.
For a limited time, the gardens exhibited at the preliminaries for this fall's Gardening World Cup will be on display in the Rose Garden.

4. Rose Mansion

For a limited time only, Hotel Europe will tranform into the Rose Mansion.
One step inside and you will be wrapped in the sweet fragrance of roses in this gorgeous space.

5. Rose Canal

A 1km-long curtain of roses.
The hanging roses that paint both sides of the canal draw canal boat passengers to the town center like rails.

Rose Festival Special Week

Announcing the Rose Festival Special Week, the best time to view the roses.
70 thousand rose pots will blanket the Grand Rose Garden as the Rose Carpet takes the stage, and inside the garden, musicians will be performing pleasant music all around.
And one of the top five rose spots, the high-class Hotel Europe, will be transformed into the rose-painted Rose Mansion.
